Introduction

The Declaration of Human Fraternity came to life at the capital city of Abu Dhabi on the 4th of February, 2019 when it was signed by His Eminence Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, and His Holiness Pope Francis, Pope of Catholic Church. It was a key document in human history promoting safe and peaceful coexistence for all people. The United Arab Emirates and its wise leaders have played a critical role in this global achievement. The United Arab Emirates passionately pursues the higher interests of mankind and leads by example and action.

Description

To more deeply establish the pillars of human fraternity and its principles, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence is organizing, in cooperation with the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, the second Festival of Human Fraternity to be held between the 2nd and the 5th of February, 2022. The festival commemorates the International Day of Human Fraternity by organizing local and international events to promote the principles of The Declaration on Human Fraternity including: peace, freedom of belief, tolerance, ethics, the protection of houses of worship, counterterrorism, positive citizenship, East-West relations, women’s rights, children’s rights, protection of the vulnerable. The festival will support implementation of the document’s principles of peaceful coexistence and tolerance of people from different cultures and nationalities while working together on projects which serve society and the world, ensuring a better future for all.

Launching the Human Fraternity Media Campaign | 2-5 Feb.
A campaign to be launched during the festival period to target different groups of society with the participation of various entities in the public and private sectors to promote the principles of the Document on Human Fraternity. Its activities include the following: Distribution of the Document to Expo visitors, schools, universities and government entities, an introductory video for the Document on Human Fraternity in several languages, a video titled “Expo as a Real Embodiment of Human Fraternity”, lighting up iconic buildings with the principles of the Document on Human Fraternity, radio, television and social media.
Launching the Government Entities Celebrations of the International Day for Human Fraternity | 2-5 Feb.
The Government’s Role as an incubator for Tolerance Celebrations to be held during the festival period by various government entities in the UAE as a celebration of the International Day of Human Fraternity in conjunction with the Human Fraternity Festival, through organizing events and consolidating awareness and activating the principles and fundamentals of the Document on Human Fraternity.

Painting session for Human FraternityA painting session with artists in a hall where students gather to practice this experience together under the slogan of human fraternity. Live guided painting session for university students, to gather and paint art pieces in harmony.

Brainstorming Workshop | 10 am
The Government’s Role as an incubator for ToleranceThe brainstorming workshop is attended by a group of federal and local entities and aims at developing “Government’s Role as an Incubator of Tolerance” initiatives and coming up with suggestions and recommendations that promote the values of tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity in entities and society. The session will be accompanied by a memorandum signing of understanding between the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence and UAE Pro League
Little Champions for Humanity Workshop | 11 am
As part of the Festival for Human Fraternity, the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence launches an interactive session in English to introduce children to the Document of Human Fraternity and the most important values promoted by this document. The workshop includes three main pillars: knowing each other, dialogue and joint action for a better world. The workshop offers in a simplified way a range of practical activities that include exposing the participants to a life context that enables them to learn about some of these values and how to apply the same to excite participants’ motivations and promote their learning levels. The participants will also work on exercises to help them explore the importance of these values in achieving peace for a better world.
Tolerance and Human Fraternity Workshop | 3 pm
YouthThe Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence renews its tireless efforts to support the objectives of the Document on Human Fraternity by launching a training program to celebrate the International Day of Human Fraternity during the organization of the Festival for Human Fraternity (“Little Champions for Humanity”). The program is presented in English language to a group of youth of several nationalities, in order to consolidate the values of human fraternity and a detailed explanation of the concept of tolerance in the UAE with the aim of embodying and demonstrating the principles of the document and applying those values in the practical sense.
Art Exhibition | 3-5 Feb.
Human Fraternity through an Artist’s EyeA three-day art exhibition that includes fine art and photography, including the participation of youth and various groups of society, in collaboration with universities, the Fine Arts Association and the National Archives.

A forum inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan, in the presence of prominent local and international figures, to celebrate the International Day of Human Fraternity, during which speakers from the Vatican and Al Azhar are hosted, in addition to hosting a roundtable on human fraternity and the Global Tolerance Alliance.
